TREND: GRAPHICS

Spring 2015 Menswear

Graphics are a social statement.  Like a billboard, they call for your attention.  The Spring 2015 menswear runway had their fair share of them.  Sometimes they were seen as cute cartoon-like figures, figurative illustrations, landscapes, or photographic prints.

TRENDS: BRIGHT BLOCKING

Spring 2015 Menswear

Alongside a hot pink trend were some bright color blocking seen on the Spring 2015 runway shows.  it’s a fresh way to take standard menswear design and give it an edge.

TREND: HOT PINK

Spring 2015 Menswear

Hot pink was seen at the Spring 2015 menswear runway in coats, suits, and jumpsuits.  It’s a bold choice for a man to walk out all decked-out in pink but maybe it takes a real man not to be afraid of it.

TREND: MILITARY

Spring 2015 Menswear

Military styling has always been a part of menswear.  Some of the most iconic menswear looks can be traced to this tradition.  Camouflage is still around but I saw some details for Spring 2015 that are more subtle; taking their inspiration with buttons, cut, and emblems.

MENSWEAR HIGHLIGHT: KTZ

Spring 2015 Menswear

KTZ, of London, was one of my favorite runway shows for Spring 2015.  It was a very strong collection with hyper-masculine styling but at the same time displayiing feminine touches.  KTZ showed a hybrid of gladiator/athletic wear that was bold in patterns, color, and edge.

TRENDS: FEMININE STYLING

Spring 2015 Menswear

Feminine styling has been slowly making its way on the menswear runway as I observed here for Spring 2015.  It’s seen with ruffles, cutouts, tunics (dresses), skirts, skin, and drape.  As gender becomes more of something we identify with rather than we’re assigned to, I see this trend continuing.

TRENDS: ATHLETIC

Spring 2015 Menswear

Athletic wear has been an inspiration for menswear designers for decades.  These looks off the Spring 2015 runway show how it continues to be a part of every day wear.
