Fall 2016 RTW: Fur
PETA’s influence on the fashion establishment paled this fall with the abundance of fur seen on the runway. Animal printed furs, shearlings, mink, fox, as well as faux furries were all represented.

I love these sculptural pieces shown on the runway for Fall 2016 RTW. Some are actually 3D printed (Iris van Herpen) while others create the effect with volume sewn into the fabric or using an origami pleating (Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçon, and Noir Kei Ninomiya).
Trend: Fur
Women’s Fall 2015 RTW
The biggest trend for women’s RTW this fall was fur. It doesn’t seem endangered by the amount shown on the runways. It could be seen mixed, sheared, trimmed, and dyed in a multitude of styles. Fur wasn’t limited to coats either. Fur dresses were seen at Christian Dior, Fendi, Gareth Pugh, and Sportmax.
Animal printed fur came down the runway at Louis Vuitton, Erdem, and Proenza Schouler. Patterned fur was pieced together at KTZ, Pucci, Roksanda, Jil Sander, Antonio Marras, and Gucci. Fur trimmed dresses at Prada, Rick Owens, Balenciaga, and Alberta Ferretti. Fur collared coats at Altuzarra, McQueen, Docle & Gabbana, and Givenchy. Long sumptuous fur at Stella McCartney, Michael Kors, Off-White, and Matthew Willamson.
Whatever your fancy, fur seems to be here now.
Trend: Knits
Women’s Fall 2015 RTW
Knit dressing is the ultimate in comfort and ease with these designs for fall 2015 RTW. The big sweater worn alone or as a top has a luxurious vibe. The knit dress can look sexy or just casual with a cozy feeling you want to just wrap yourself in.
